FAQ

+Q: Will I need any other study materials other than MCAT Cooperative's course notes?
A: Yes! We highly recommend that you purchase and complete ExamKrackers Complete Study Packet from Amazon.com (usually about $100). We’ve also found that purchase and completion of all available AAMC online practice MCATs is essential. These are available at e-mcat.com ($35 each).

+Q: Is study of your course notes and attendance of lecture enough to do well on the MCAT?
A: Generally speaking, no. We highly recommend completion of the ExamKrackers Complete Study Guide and also taking all of the AAMC practice MCATs mentioned on our list of recommended.

+Q: How do your students score on average?
A: We are just beginning to gather data to assess our course but we’ve recently learned that 2011 participants who followed our study plan all obtained competitive scores (30+). We are still examining the data for the last several years to post – stay tuned!

+Q: What if I don't gain a competitive score?
A: If you’re not satisfied with your score you can retake the course for free.

+Q: I need some help with my AMCAS application, personal statement, and interview prep. How do I go about getting it?
A: Participants are encouraged to send us an email request and we will set you up with an assistant.

+Q: Are there scholarships available?
A: Yes, if you are a participant in UC Denver’s Undergraduate Pre-Health Program you may receive a full scholarship to the program. Aurora LIGHTS was also offering a scholarship but this may not be the case anymore since they are currently having funding issues. We are always looking for opportunities to partner with other organizations so please let us know if you have any ideas about who else might be interested in working with us.

+Q: How can I obtain workstudy credit and what would it entail?
A: We offer one workstudy position per course season for those with financial hardships. The award is a 50% tuition discount. The position asks that you get trained on using the overhead projector, ensure that dry erase markers are always in stock, and function as a contact for the MCAT Cooperative team. This means you would be required to attend every lecture and must find a replacement if you for any reason cannot make it into class. To apply just email us 2-3 paragraphs describing your financial situation.

+Q: If I drop the class, will I get my money back?
A: While there may be some exceptions depending on circumstance, our policy is that we do not refund the deposit after the first day of class.

+Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: We are very flexible with payment. The initial deposit of $400 is required but the remainder can be paid anytime during the course.

+Q: What room on the Auraria campus is my class in?
A: We will email this information to you at least a week prior to the class.
